Summer 2012 TBR List

Look for my thoughts on these novels, that I have placed on my list to read/review this summer!

Sienna is a 16 yr. old girl. She is the only half witch half human in the magical world of Bellvara. Everything was going fine, she had her best friends Ella and Eric and she had even found Riley, a handsome light elf. But all did not stay well, when Sienna became aware that her mother was kidnapped she had to get her back, no matter what it took. With Tamelia, a friendly, well-educated girl from school joining them on their quest, they headed deep into the forests to uncover all the secrets from Sienna’s past and the further she goes the more her dreams begin to finally make sense. A love story, an adventure and a twisted tale… Bellvara takes it to the next level!

Blissany Cherry is tired of sleeping around. Her neurologists’ sleep solutions have failed her. Now that her bizarre sleeping habits have begun to include week long dreams she has resorted to her own methods for a cure.

METHOD ONE: CONTROL DREAMS. All attempts to morph dreams about a gorgeous warrior into romantic fantasies are thwarted. He keeps on insisting she is destined to marry a great king and lead their armies into war. At the end of every dream he asks her: will you fight the war and save mankind?

She laughs in his face.

METHOD TWO: RESIST! Blissany has plans for her life. None include fighting an intergalactic war. When her dreams begin spilling over into reality, she is forced to make a decision that will forever redefine her life. Standing between destiny and desire, she is left with only one option.

METHOD THREE: SURVIVE.

Nadija Fey is weeks away from graduating college and is eager to escape small city-life. She feels suffocated by her eccentric Slovak family, an abusive ex-boyfriend and a drug addicted childhood friend. To her, life seems empty, lonely and stale. The only consolation she has, is a dream to move to Prague and start a new life. Despite her grandmother’s warnings, and the pleas of friends and family to stay, she embarks on her journey to find herself. But to her dismay, Prague seems to harbor more pain and suffering than she anticipated. She is forced to accept a life she would have never chosen for herself—a life her grandmother fought desperately to shield her from. Nadija quickly finds herself caught in a celestial world struggling to maintain its delicate balance—a balance contingent on her acceptance of her destiny. And though she finds the love she has always desired, it comes with and awful price—her life. In the first of her epic thirteen book series, author Rebekah Armusik captivates the reader with rich language and colorful characters. In Memoirs of a Gothic Soul, Armusik successfully redefines the Gothic novel and resurrects the sensuality, mysticism, and allure of the classic vampire with an unexpected twist.

A government investigator stumbles onto secret information he was never meant to see. What follows is a race against time for our hero to discover the full impact of what is being planned by those who would do evil to others.

His journey takes him across Australia from Sydney via Adelaide to the deep outback before returning to Sydney for the heart stopping climax and confrontation. His efforts are thwarted by his enemies who kill all potential witnesses and frame him as a terrorist who's name gets pushed to the top of the most wanted list. If he fails to stop them in time, millions of people are going to die a slow and painful death.

Will he make it?

Told through the lens of the sea, each of the book's five sections chronicle the main character's journey away from tumultuous love affairs by weaving stories of her past with stories from literature, music, and visual art of both modern and classical significance.

After nearly being murdered by a boyfriend, the main character promises herself that she will never let a man abuse her again. She figures that making this change, from dating abusive men to normal ones, should be as easy as flicking off a light switch, but soon finds that even after she's made the conscious decision to no longer involve herself in unhealthy relationships, the rest of her has yet to catch up with that thought. Still caught up in the dramaturgy of her relationships' past, she sets off on an emotional voyage to discover how she ended up on the shores of coastal New England.

**And this is just the beginning! I've got my work cut out for me, and oh what glorious work it is! Keep checking back as I knock these wonderful pieces off my To Be Read list, for Summer 2012
